3 kinds of twisted here - the bent tail-end of the gourd, the twisting on the rope and the weaving on top. This gourd is worn by men from Papua New Guinea. The rope is tied around their waist and .... I bet you can guess what goes in the gourd (^_^)

These are 12 paper-thin bookmarks from China, made of some kind of wood. The 12 girls on the front represent the 12 beauties of Chinling, characters from the great classical Chinese novel "A Dream of Red Mansions". I'm not sure what the writings on the back are ... maybe it's the name of the girl on the front and the noble family they're from. These are so delicate that I couldn't even bear to take them off the plastic and use them. I'm afraid they'll break!Tuesday, April 22, 2008
Not really a pretty picture but this road does lead to the largest shopping mall in the Philippines, the Mall of Asia. It's also the 3rd largest shopping mall in the world (^_^) Taken in July of last year.

It looks sad atop the Empire State Building with no one around and even sadder that this is what we saw up there .... all gray. I kid you not, this is what I took then, it was zero visibility.
